Integrating With Raw SMTP To Send Transactional Email Notifications

PayKickstart offers vendors the ability to integrate transactional email notifications with SMTP services to use their own email services and deliver email notifications via their own domains.
Important Note:
If you choose to handle transactional emails via SMTP, PayKickstart cannot guarantee the deliverability of all email notifications.
Due to the complexity of the various SMTP platforms on the web PayKickstart is only able to offer minimal support with 3rd party SMTP connections. If integration connection issues occur, it is best to contact your Email host provider.
To integrate with Raw SMTP to deliver transactional email notifications, please follow the steps below:
Step 1: Selecting Raw SMTP on the Main Integration page
Step 1: Selecting Raw SMTP on the Main Integration page
In your PayKickstart account, go to the integrations section in the Configure menu.

In the Integrations section, under the Available tab, look for Email integrations, then enable the toggle for the integration option you are looking into using.
For raw SMTP integrations, enable the SMTP option.

A pop-up will appear in the first dropdown with Other as the pre-selected option once you enable the SMTP option.
This will show the following fields to enter for the SMTP integration:

NOTE:
For the integration fields below, please refer to the 3rd party platform you are using for SMTP integration.
Account Name: For your personal display purposes
From Name: The name the emails will be sent from
From Email: The email address the emails will be sent from
Host: Your domain name. Example: smtp.gmail.com
Port: You can check your service provider for the port number
Username: Your account username(or email) for the email service you are integrating with.
Password: The password for your account with the email service you are integrating with
SSL/TLS: If your email service provider provides this option in your 3rd party account settings, you can enable this option.
Once the fields have been entered, select “Connect“
NOTE:
You will also want to confirm the integration with your 3rd party SMTP platform if required by the 3rd party platform.
NOTE:
If you are using Gmail or G Suite and have trouble completing SMTP activation, please see the common troubleshooting steps here.
After connecting the SMTP integration, you will receive an email via the FROM email address used to verify and activate the integration at the platform level.

You must click on the verification link in the same browser you are logged into PayKickstart with to verify your email SMTP integration.
Step 2: Enable Raw SMTP in Your Campaign Settings
Step 2: Enable Raw SMTP in Your Campaign Settings
To enable SendPost in your campaign settings, go to the Campaigns section in your PayKickstart account.
Then, go to the three-dotted menu on the right side of the relevant campaign and click on Edit Campaign.

Once you click on Edit Campaign, move on to the Communication tab and look for the Email Delivery section.
Select the Raw SMTP you previously added from the provided options.
Once selected, make sure to click the Save button to save your campaign.
From this moment on, all of your transactional emails for this campaign will be sent through Raw SMTP to your customers.
You can repeat these same steps to enable Raw SMTP for your other Campaigns, if needed.
Once enabled and saved on the campaign level, you are now integrated to send transaction emails via Raw SMTP for the selected campaign.
You can connect SMTP integrations with all campaigns you want to use SMTP services for delivering your transactional emails.
You can also select the SMTP service to be used for sending out emails related to your Embeddable Customer Billing Portal.
Step 3: Enabling Raw SMTP for sending Customer Billing Portal Authorization Emails
Step 3: Enabling Raw SMTP for sending Customer Billing Portal Authorization Emails
You can also select the Raw SMTP service to be used for sending out emails related to your Embeddable Customer Billing Portal.
The Hosted Billing portal does not need to be switched to the 3rd party integration.
If you have any previously created Embeddable Portals, please follow these steps:
To enable your Raw SMTP integration for the portal, navigate to
Tools → Customer Billing Portal.

Find the Embeddable Portal you have created and click the edit icon (pencil icon).

In the portal settings, select the Email SMTP Service tab and choose your SendPost integration from the dropdown menu.
Click Next Step and proceed to the final step to Save your portal settings.
Once saved, the integration will take over, and all future emails for authorizing customer access or related billing events will be sent via Raw SMTP.
Once enabled and saved on the campaign level, you are now integrated to send transaction emails via SMTP for the selected campaign.
You can connect SMTP integrations with all campaigns you want to use with SMTP.
