Lead - Cost Per Acquisition (CPA) Tracking for your Affiliate Program

PayKickstart's Lead Tracking feature, also known as Cost Per Acquisition (CPA), allows you to reward affiliates with a commission for every qualified lead they generate.
This is a powerful strategy for building an email list during a pre-launch, driving webinar registrations, or growing your audience with a lead magnet.
Follow the steps below to configure your Lead Tracking campaign.
Your next steps will include setting up your Tracking Methods so that you can properly track any lead and commission to the correct affiliate.
First, and the most important step, is to set up the tracking method for your Opt-In form and page.
To begin, click on the Conversion/Tracking, </>, option in the Commissions Settings (Lead) area of your Affiliate Program campaignβs tab.

After adding the lead form code and tracking method, you will now have the basic lead form on your opt-in page for customer to use and affiliate to share.
The lead submission form is a basic name, email and submission button form.
You can use CSS to design the lead form to match your page as seen in the example photo below.

Affiliates will now have a lead campaign link in their affiliate accounts to use for lead signups.

You can view all of your leads by going to Payments β Leads
You can also see if the lead is Confirmed and if they have converted to a Buyer.
Confirmed Lead: Once the lead submits the lead form, they will receive an opt-in confirmation email via the 3rd party email platform you have integrated with the lead campaign.
Once the lead clicks this confirmation link, they will be marked as βConfirmedβ in your PayKickstart account.
Vendors can also manually confirm a lead campaign lead if needed.

Paying out affiliates for their referred leads is handled the same way that you payout normal commissions.
PLEASE NOTE: In order to payout an affiliate for a related lead, the lead will need to have confirmed their opt-in with your email service.
More information about paying out your affiliates can be found in this article:
β How to Handle Affiliate Commission Payouts
Important Note:
Regardless of which tracking method you use, PayKickstart has a number of fraud detection features built-in to minimize the chances of fraudulent leads.
However, as a rule of thumb, its important to always be mindful of the affiliates promoting your lead campaign and to monitor the leads on a regular basis, looking for anything that seems suspicious or unusual β especially before paying out commissions.
If you are looking into testing your own lead forms as the main vendor, we recommend using a different device than you would typically use for managing your PayKickstart account. If attempting to fill out the form on the same device you have logged in as the Vendor on, you would receive an error that the form has already been filled out.
